Do you usually forget where you have placed things? Are you missing out a lot of special events such as birthdays and Christmases simply because you have not remembered them? 1. Focus your attention at the moment. You will remember a lot of things if you keep yourself interested at something you have at the present. For example, if you are in school you have to bring all of your attention to every word the teacher says, not to your classmates, phone, or anything else.


2. Go for the traditional method: write things down. If you do not want to forget anything, then you better write it down. There are already plenty of planners or journals you can use these days. They are comprehensive enough since you can include birth dates, telephone numbers, names of friends or acquaintances, notes, and a whole lot more. 3. Consider association. You can also easily recall things by associating new ones to those that are already stored in your mind. For example, if a friend introduces someone named “Rosa,” you may associate the person to the words “rose” and “Spanish.” If you are supposed to attend a meeting on a Saturday, you can associate the date to your favorite TV program during the weekend. There is no definite rule on how to use relationships of old and new information. You can be as creative as you would like. The most important thing is you remember them.


4.  Get rid of the clutter in your mind. When you have a lot of things in your mind, it would be very difficult for you to absorb new ones. You need to throw out those that you do not need: the clutter.
